I teach comparative politics, religion and politics, South Asian politics, and the politics of social change. My classes often take up nationalism, secularism, caste, gender, development, education, and how young people shape politics.
My teaching emphasizes critical engagement, empathy, and grounding theory in real movements and histories. I often build courses with students: syllabi that grow week by week, service projects, and creative collaborations. I received Lehigh’s Christian and Mary Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2022.
